Tour de Corse promises classic route

Organisers of the Tour de Corse have pledged that the event will take another step closer to its classic format when it runs as round four of the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge on 9-12 May. Christian Leca, the President of Tour de Corse organising body ASACC, promised that this year's rally would be "a genuine, old-fashioned tour of Corsica." In its final years as France's round of the World Rally Championship, before that moved to Alsace on the mainland two years ago, the Tour de Corse had run on a compact route around the island's capital of Ajaccio
